The year of virgins and the jolly rancher debut!

What a year! I love our week on the playa! each year is very different but is always my favorite week of the year. the creativity, colorfulness, happiness, openness, authenticity of the human spirit and where anyone from anywhere can come together in a peaceful way to have fun and spread kindness. Its magical!

When the playa lights up at night its indescribable. I love taking newbies onto the playa for the first time and see the experience unfold and eyes gleam. I teared up on burn night knowing it would be a full year before I could see the magic again. The week goes by too quickly and this year we lost a few days due to weather. We had so many whiteouts from super windy days and one day lost due to rain. Temperatures were mild and cold through the week. The playa keeps you on your toes and I like that too! It’s a game of survival in a weird landscape!

Lee absolutely knocked it out of the park with the art car, Jolly Rancher. It was a complete rebuild with a new bull head installation on the top for climbing and viewing. His vision became a reality in totality. I witnessed grown men GIGGLE with excitement and squeal with joy when climbing it! The view was spectacular to watch DJS, people and sunrises. The lighting and new custom TV screens that could share messages was a fun added touch but showcases in an incredible way leaving a mark on the playa.
