I am going to be a swan-ma!
Our swans, Romeo and Juliet, nested for the second time but she finally laid eggs! This process has been so fun to witness via our “Swanvision” Ring camera. The building of the next over the course of a month with supplies we provided (a roll of pine straw and two bails of straw).
Last Monday around 2am Juliet laid 3 eggs. Since then, and new knowledge for us, is she could continue laying more eggs in the coming days. Today, we have a total of 5 blue-ish eggs that look like easter!
The incubation period is ~35 days so my mid April we could see cygnets on the lake! That is, if a predator doesn’t eat the eggs before then!
