Rebuilding Year

2024 was an entire year that was just off. It started in January when my back started hurting more than usual. So when it impacted my workouts in February I went to a spine doctor for imaging and sure enough told me I had a major issue that required surgery. Luckily I was able to get a surgery scheduled rather quickly in April, then a good 6 months of recovery and most the of year was already in the past.

Therefore 2025 Is dedicated to rebuilding!

In January I joined a program called Faster Way. It’s an incredibly organized and thoughtful program for women looking for weight loss or muscle gain and for all activity types. It’s been a fantastic program for me to jump back into a daily workout to push myself with new challenges, higher weights, holding myself accountable and teaching me better foods to eat. The program is built around a few core pillars that work VERY well together.

  1. macro nutrients

I’ve learned a ton about macro nutrients and what I eat. The app helps log food and count macros, plus track water intake with specific goals based on my weight and activity type. It took me a few weeks to understand macros, even with a personal chef! I have a huge benefit with a chef in my corner and it’s still hard to hit the right balance. The app provides an easy way to track food and macros (carbs, fat, fiber and protein)

2. fasting

Each night I try to finish eating by 6:30pm or earlier to begin a 16hr fast. It’s hard on nights where I go out with friends but otherwise it’s doable. The hardest part of fasting in the morning is adapting to a simple coffee with a keto-friendly creamer. Ive tried a few and most are pretty terrible. I’ve contemplated just giving up coffee.

3. working out

I already loved working out and had a routine however I needed something fresh to jumpstart my desire to rebuild strength in 2025. I love the workouts Faster Way provides and allows me to workout at home (which I’ve never wanted to do or been motivated to do, but somehow these workouts are fantastic and I want to be home for them!). The program cycles through HIIT/ Cardio days that are paired with low carb days, then roll through total body, arms, legs, pilates and a recovery day.

4. hydration

Water is key for the body to perform! The app wants me to drink ~90 ounces of water a day based on my weight, height and activity level. Once I day I add my creatine and an electrolyte in (usually during my workout) to spice it up.

And I’ve seen results! I feel leaner, lost 2 inches in waist and butt plus I am definitely more toned in obliques and arms. Im excited to see how the next 6 weeks go!

I highly recommend this program for anyone needing to get out of a rut, needs a program to follow or wants to learn about any of the pillars.
