POEM: Innocence

Circa 1998

Sitting, starting.... I wilt.

Full of emotions, breathless.

You my love strip me of all power.

Falling limp

My strength vanishes

My sunshines is blocked by a heartless door.

How can you be so cruel

After the emotions we shared?

A mere mirage since you didn't care.

Like seasons, we're becoming a cycle

A new beginning for the same ending

You love, then you love to hate.

Gardens protect themselves from surroundings they cannot bear

I blossomed for you

You stomped on my silken petals.

Sometimes the weed will win

As people pretend to care

Seem to be everywhere

Stealing my precious air.

This time my roots are strong

And I am moving on.
