Richard’s blog

Being amongst a group of brilliant, creative and successful people on my #StriveChallenge could have brought on feelings of the impostor phenomenon. However, the group of Strivers was incredibly kind, open-hearted, friendly and exceptionally caring which made it easy to be my authentic self.

Each night of the climb of #MtKenya I would get into my tent and sleeping bag and document the day via a poem. I've written poetry since middle school and feel its the best way to insert emotion into writing. I read aloud the final works to my fellow Strivers leading into our celebratory dinner. It was received so beautifully and became yet another heart expanding moment of the trip and a freeze-framed moment in life I will remember always.

I am full of gratitude and blessings from this trip. To add to my ongoing elation, Richard Branson quoted my poem twice in his personal blog about our expedition experience. Thank you Richard! 🥰
