Biohacking: Tests Edition
I’ve been continuing my wellness journey with a variety of tests. Because Knowledge is Power and I LOVE DATA!!! These are the recent tests I’ve gone through to understand my body, how its functioning and the data can help me improve its performance.
Bloodwork
To understand the performance of your body you can do in depth bloodwork with companies like Function Health. I have my first annual blood draw setup to do 4 blood draws in July since added on a variety of extra tests like pre cancer screening, metals and toxins, etc. Function Health monitors over 100 biomarkers and provides a great user interface with trends, information on each biomarker and what it means and how to impact it with foods, lifestyle or supplements.

Body Scans
Prenuvo Scan - June 15, 2025
Prenuvo Scan
I opted to do a voluntary whole body MRI scan with Prenuvo and got my results within 24 hours! i’ve scheduled my walk through zoom call but luckily no major findings but a few minor and 1 moderate finding that I will look into.

Body Compositions
Over the years and throughout my wellness journey that I started around 2015, I’ve done many body composition scans to measure my body fat% and lean mass trends. There are a variety of options in most areas at spas, gyms, wellness facilities. Look for:
DEXA
InBody
Genetic Testing
Genetic panels
my first two genetic tests were for identifying my risk for breast cancer since I am already high risk due to losing my mother to the disease. I am luckily BRCA negative and every other gene associated with breast cancer in my second 70+ gene panel were also negative.
Genetics methylation
I just did this test because yet again I was targeted on Instagram, LOL. It was decently informative and explained from 5 specific genes if I have a mutation and how the mutation could impact how my body processes nutrients, manages detoxification, and regulates mood and cognition.
What I didn’t care for with this test was it’s recommending specific supplements (ahem, the money maker) but without a blood test or even knowing if I am deficient in said supplements.
Eye Exam
After the age 40 our eye sight continues to change… rapidly! i had an eye exam in January 2024 and my nearsighted vision didn’t change too drastically but my farsighted continues to. Lucky me, I get readers and driving glasses! I am also going to try progressives to see what I prefer to wear.
Viome
Last year I did the Viome Testing which takes a blood, stool and breath sample all from home and you send it in via the mail. I didn’t get much actionable insights from the results so to me it wasn’t worthwhile.
Vein HEalth in Legs
I decided to get a vericose vein in my left upper calf checked out for superficial reasons which led to full ultrasound of veins in both legs to learn that I have vein reflux. So not only do I have an ugly Y-shaped vericose vein from child birth but I also have feet that swell at times because the blood isn’t getting pumped back to my heart efficiently and therefore pool in my feet. AHA, never thought to have it checked out! The treatment is a vein ablation of the souce vein that has the reflex and thus also created a vericose situation.
