1 Year Post Spine Surgery!
Today marks 1 year since my spinal fusion and disc replacement surgery. What a journey and I feel great!
In hindsight the surgery was a breeze and my recovery was swift. Here are some milestones along the way!
Days 1-2: The Hospital stay was actually enjoyable with a fabulous nurse (Nancy) but constant visitors who kept me entertained and feeling loved until bedtime
2 Weeks: I hosted a swan party (not lifting anything of course but on my feet!)
2 months: Traveled to Fiji and enjoyed the sun, sand and family time
4 months: Went to burning man and fell off a bike on a pump track and didn’t hurt my back luckily!
6 Months: check up with surgeon went well and the hardware looks like it did on day one!
Hiked in Peru and to Macchu Picchu!
7 months: Went back to Fiji for yoga and I surfed!!
Completed Chastain 100 (100 miles in 6 weeks)
8 months: traveled to Morocco and rode camels in the desert
9 Months: Started my strength re-building journey with Faster Way program.
12 Months: Feeling strong and happy I did the surgery so I can live life without back pain daily. Check out my wellness journey results with the focus of building muscle!

Today, I am happy I took this step for myself. Sure my right side of my lower back gets a little sore but I am also 46 years old and will have aches and pains.
